Some naturally occurring nuclear localizing signals (NLSs) and some artificially designed peptides were covalently conjugated by solid phase fragment condensation (SPFC) mehtod. These DNA-peptide conjugates showed enhanced permeability into cells as well as enhanced hybrid stability with ss DNA and ds DNA, and also higher resistance against nuclease digestion.
