Topological stabilization of PNA-DNA invasion complex

We propose the concept of a PNA-DNA (PD) padlock exploiting a topological link between PNA and DNA. We synthesized padlock-forming PNAs and demonstrated the validity of this concept by gel shift assay. We also suggest a design principle for padlock-forming PNA.
